I rarely write long blog posts, but something has happened in my home Shire in 2008 that I must share with you! It relates to sustainability … community capacity … government and NGO partnerships … and a project team willing to allow direction and activities to emerge over time. It’s an exciting story with even greater possibilities for the future. This story also relates to the lessons our team learned in staging the Castlemaine 500 project. Last weekend I had the privilege of co-facilitating a sustainable transport workshop with participants in the Surf Coast Shire’s Casuarina project. In 2008, an …

After a couple of weeks in the blogging wilderness … I’m back! And I have a whole treasure trove of stuff to write about and explore with you. I have just finished a project called Castlemaine 500. I just discovered a whole series of Slideshare presentations from a conference. Here’s quote from the Web 2.0 Europe Expo: We love what the Europe Web 2.0 Expo is doing all around the world, and here’s the latest from their Europe conference all in one go! Click here for the whole ‘pack’ of Web 2.0 presentations Here’s a presentation that caught my eye. It relates to IBM’s global adoption of social networking and Web 2.0 applications for staff such as blogs and online forums. Seems to me that if you’re serious about Knowledge Management, adoptions of this stuff should be …

In the spirit of Improv and Complex change, I have started doing lots and lots of little things to help ‘enable change’ and ‘spark conversations’ about living sustainably at home. The first of these is Green Cow Solutions! A good chunk of my work is in the design and facilitation of projects that bring together people to learn from each other about tackling climate change and living sustainably. These projects have become more about community strengthening and resilience than about the ‘sustainability’ outcomes that flow from action (eg. insulating ceiling space) … I am very comfortable with that too! So …
