Here’s an overlap of pictures from 2 of my favourite sources AND they come together in the NGO space – which I find myself working in at the moment with one of Australia’s leading NGO’s. Source 1 – NESTA Connect wrote this piece which has shaped my thinking about the importance of conversations leading to relationships and then real-world transactions. Their diagrams of the different types of people/group networks made great sense also. Source 2 – Clay Shirky’s ideas Net-Map have embedded a 5 minute interview with Clay Shirky and they discuss the role of NGO’s in mobilsing and using …

I was honored to present a whole bunch of stuff to a group of people in Anglesea the other day. I focused on Clay Shirky’s crowdsourcing, Ken Robinson’s creativity, Seth’s Tribes and a range of online tools. Here’s a direct link to the mindmap I used to plan the session. When you visit Mind42, you will be able to click on the links which take you to various videos, presentations and information. BRWMG Presentation by Geoff Brown – 2009 Mind42 is like a wiki, but in mindmap form. Cheers Geoff

It starts with the premise that adolescent girls living in the developing world, if given the chance to participate in their own community, can make a difference … collectively (that’s many millions!) they can change the course of humanity. They have developed this wonderfully simple video to communicate their message. Best to watch it at their website here. Here’s the embedded version … Ok, so what? Here’s some questions that sprang to my mind … What if we used …

A great presentation – use visuals!

I have been ranting about the use of visual images to support a story, key messages or to communicate your ‘thing’ to others. Here is a 4 minute presentation by Andy Hobsbawm that has a number of great features: Great use of visual images to support his story – notice his slides contain no words (they don’t need to!) His presentation has 1 core premise and everything hangs if it … the use of creative stuff is needed to inspire people to act in certain ways He also uses a short video to reinforce his idea (that he sells very …
