The Status Games we all play

Here’s a little post I wrote when away on a remote island in Fiji recently … Last night I witnessed a classic example of how ‘status’ can get in the way of daily interactions we have each other. In exactly 6 days we are taking a family holiday. 3 weeks in Fiji will be bliss and we also get to hang out with our neighbors – who are volunteering in Fiji for 5 months. In exactly 6 days, I will also be celebrating the 1 year anniversary of my right-knee surgery! There’s an iPad app called Adobe Ideas and it’s very cool! Take a photo and it identifies the main colors and create a color palette for the drawing tool. Here’s a photo of a coffee tabletop at home … From this a color palette is created so that I can create this word map. This is a collection of words that came to mind as I reflected on my day.

Have you ever noticed how many numbers there are in our world? Numbers appear to be as prolific in our streetscape as letters of the alphabet. This morning … I noticed numbers. I set off on a morning walk with our dog, my head swirling with thoughts,projections and assumptions. My mind was on auto pilot and it’s projections filled my whole being.
