It’s my birthday this weekend – March 27th. That coincides nicely with Earth Hour where millions and millions will switch off their lights for a full hour. The crew at The Green Thing, to celebrate my birthday and Earth Hour, have produced this little video.

During a conversation with Viv McWaters today (when we talked about everything from Show Me The Change, to Crumbs and Insanely Great Slideshow Presentations), I remembered the theme I adopted for 2010 that would guide my work which was all about being fear-less. I sit at home with the sound of my 3 boys breathing, deep in sleep. And 150km away at the her parent’s home in Melbourne, my wife is suffering the horrible pain that comes with an ear infection. Not just any ear infection, this one is hideous with intolerable pain despite a healthy mix of high end medications. Over the weekend, myself and Marty Maher and a bunch of other volunteers stage the 3rd annual Aireys Inlet Open Mic Music Festival. Apart from being an absolutely outrageous success, it was loads of fun and we designed and staged it all without a Steering Committee (yaaay) … or a detailed strategic plan for that matter! Marty has grown and nurtured this event from a seed … an idea that Marty had (and he has lot’s of them). The core of that idea assumes that there are loads of musicians out there desperate to strut their stuff and play music …
