Recently I did some work with my good friend Chris Corrigan. Chris is working with one of his clients to explore deeply the concept of ‘Welcome’ and what it means for their daily work practices and the principles that guide the way they work. Here in Fiji they have a word for hello which extends to a full welcome when said in the true Fijian way … “Bula!” Bula is said by the welcomer with eye contact and a smile. It is spoken with a resonate “B” that comes from deep inside. It makes the Welcomee feel part of something …

In exactly 6 days we are taking a family holiday. 3 weeks in Fiji will be bliss and we also get to hang out with our neighbors – who are volunteering in Fiji for 5 months. In exactly 6 days, I will also be celebrating the 1 year anniversary of my right-knee surgery! There’s an iPad app called Adobe Ideas and it’s very cool! Take a photo and it identifies the main colors and create a color palette for the drawing tool. Here’s a photo of a coffee tabletop at home … From this a color palette is created so that I can create this word map. This is a collection of words that came to mind as I reflected on my day.
